Kerala Backyard - 1

4 x 6 inch

Inspired from a tree in the backyard of a home in Kerala.

As a kid, I was never the ambitious kind. I didn’t want money, a fancy job or a fancy car. But one thing I did want was a home. I grew up as a defence kid (not a brat), which meant we moved cities every few years, shared a home with other families when we needed to and at best were in a 2bhk as a family of 4. So my only dream ever was to have a home with a garden, a big backyard and lots of space to play. As the years passed and I continued to live in apartments, I forgot about this dream of mine. Until Kerala showed me just how real this life could be. Kerala will make you realise how much of a difference it makes to have nature surrounding you. Trees, plants, grass, growing all around you. Away from the noise of the city markets. I yearn to have a home with a backyard that will have trees and birds and cats and dogs. Unfortunately this might come at the cost of dealing with lizards but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
